Forest of the Impaled

6-level Necromancy

Ritual - does not require spell slot, takes 10 minutes longer
Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area: 150 ft. (100 sq. ft.)
Components: V, S, M
Materials: a bloodied stake
Duration: 1 minute (concentration)

You conjure a 10-foot stake below each corpse or creature in a 100-foot square area of ground within range. Corpses are automatically impaled. Creatures in the area must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d10 piercing damage and become restrained.

A creature restrained in this way takes 3d10 piercing damage at the end of each of its turns. A restrained creature may use its action to make a Strength saving throw to end the condition. When the spell ends, any stake that is impaling a corpse becomes permanent.
