The weapon has a number of charges equal to your Dexterity modifier. If you are proficient in the Sleight of Hand skill you can add your proficiency bonus to the number of charges. It regains all charges at dawn.
When you attack with this weapon you can expend one or more charges. For that attack, you score a critical if you roll equal to or greater than 20 – the number of charges spent. For example, if you expend 3 charges, you will score a critical hit on a roll of 17, 18, 19 or 20. You must decide on the number of charges before rolling the attack
