Faithbound Guard While wielding this shield, you have advantage on saving throws against being frightened by undead creatures of CR 1 or lower. Symbol of the Light As a bonus action, you may cause the shield’s emblem to glow with soft golden light, shedding dim light in a 10-foot radius for up to 1 hour. You may end this effect at any time.

A sturdy shield carried by trainee paladins and freshly sworn defenders of the Light, the Bulwark of the Initiate is built to withstand both steel and shadow.

The shield is forged from reinforced steel with a polished face bearing the crest of a holy order, kingdom, or the Silver Hand. Its edges are lined with brass and its surface often carries minor scratches and dents from early training battles and crusader drills.
