WONDROUS ITEM ARTIFACT MAGICAL GRAVITURGY

A dark crystal orb with a faint glimmer of purple light in its center. It is incredibly heavy and feels smooth to the touch.

Astral Implosion. This orb has a miniaturized Astral gate at its center leading to a deadzone in the Astral Sea. When the orb is hit by Force damage the crystal shatters and tears the veil between the planes exposing anyone nearby to the force of the deadzone. The sphere has a radius of 40 feet. The area within this sphere is filled with magical darkness and crushing gravitational force.

For the duration, the area is difficult terrain. A creature with darkvision can't see through the magical darkness, and nonmagical light can't illuminate it. No sound can be created within or pass through the area. Any creature or object entirely inside the sphere is immune to thunder damage, and creatures are deafened while entirely inside it. Casting a spell that includes a verbal component is impossible there.

Any creature that enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there must make a Strength Saving Throw. The creature takes 8d10 force damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful save. A creature that fails the save is pulled 20 ft towards the center of the sphere. A creature reduced to 0 hit points by this damage is disintegrated. A disintegrated creature and everything it is wearing and carrying, except magic items, are reduced to a pile of fine gray dust.

Placing a Dark Star inside an extradimensional space created by a Bag of Holding, Heward’s Handy Haversack, Portable Hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and causes an Astral Implosion. The sphere originates where the one item was placed inside the other.
