Hauflins are a species of short humans whose native settlements reside in highlands and mountains. As such their bodies and lifestyle have adapted to the high-altitude environment. In almost all hauflin ethnic groups, many traditional handicrafts are an important aspect of material culture. This includes a tradition of weaving handed down from pre-modern times or earlier, using cotton, wool and a multitude of natural dyes, and incorporating numerous woven patterns. They also have a particular range of hair and eye colors from mulitple hues that can be striking.
Hauflin Traits
As a Hauflin, you have these special traits.
Brave. You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the frightened condition on yourself. When you fail a saving throw to avoid or end the frightened condition on yourself, you can choose to succeed instead. Once you succeed on a saving throw in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Mountainous Origins. You have resistance to cold damage. You also naturally acclimate to high altitudes, even if you've never been to one. This includes elevations above 20,000 feet. You have advantage on environmental hazards within montane areas.
Cunning. You have Advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws.
Versatile. You gain an Origin feat of your choice.
