(The chapter opens with Tenebris standing with his bandages and eyes glowing. )
Tenebris: Everyone okay!?
Arthor: We're good.
Tenebris: Jaeja?
Machi: he's out cold but he's okay!
Tenebris: Get him out of here and get back as soon as possible.
Machi: right! (he picks up Jaeja and his eyes glow and he starts running)
Death: You protect those weaker than yourself, that is admirable.
Tenebris: who are you, and how did you get inside the barrier!?
Death: (unsheathes karri's key blade and throws it at tenebris feet)
Tenebris: how did you get that?
Death: I have been sent to collect the man named Tenebris.
Arthor: Not happening. (His eyes glow red) (karri, Lykoi and ulfer's eyes glow yellow and blue respectively)
Death: I have only come for Tenebris. I have no reason to fight any of the rest of you.
Karri: If you want tenebris then you'll have to go through us.
Death: I will give you one last chance to reconsider.
( Lykoi takes out his pistol and shoots several shots at Death, who stands still and the orku bolts disappear before reaching him. )
Death: so be it. (His eyes glow Teal as Karri takes a dagger and throws it with lightning behind it. the lightning stops as it gets close to death who catches the blade and throws it back )
Karri: That never works. (Arthor starts running towards death with ulfer beside him. he takes out his violencia and bow as his eyes light up as he goes to slash him. Arthors eyes stop glowing as he gets close and death blocks his attacks easily with his scythe. death kicks him back. Ulfer jumps at him as his eyes stop glowing too. death blocks ulfer bite with his scythe. Tenebris eyes glow as he disappears and reappears behind death who already is looking at tenebris. Tenebris is shocked and hesitates, when death spins his scythe and throws ulfer at him. Tenebris catches ulfer but death spins his scythe and hits tenebris in the stomach with the bottom of his scythe, sending him flying with a massive burst of energy. Karri swings his daggers down at death who calmly dodges both, arthor swings at him again and death side steps his attack and grabs his arm and throws him back, karri wraps his chains around arthor's leg and spins and throws him at death who blocks his attack with his scythe with a massive burst of energy.)
Death: you are but children and yet you fight as a legionary.
Arthor: Don't compare us to those pompous...
( Tenebris off in the distance ): LANGUAGE!
Arthor: Oh come...(death shifts his weapons to the side and punches arthor in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him. )
Death: Then I will not. (grabs arthor and slams him into the ground and cracks it. knocking him out.
Karri: Get away from him! (karri appears with lightning trailing behind him. he goes to kick him, but he blocks it as his eyes glow karri's eyes stop. he takes a swing at karri but he puts his hand on the side of the scythe and hops of it and wraps his chains around the scythe and pulls with all his strength. Lykoi takes out his primal dagger and fires a couple shots that dissipates before they hit death. he pulls his scythe back and karri flies forward. ulfer goes to jump onto death but he side steps and karri flies into ulfer. lykoi lunges at his face with his dagger but death catches his arm.)
Death: there is a fine line between hope and foolishness. (Tenebris appears beside death and lands a clean punch to his face with his bandaged hand with a shockwave and sends him flying back. he flips and slams his scythe on the ground stopping him. tenebris helps arthor up. machi runs back in and takes his axes out. ulfer and karri walk run over next to tenebris and the others.)
Tenebris: (thinking) he's draining all the orku around him. so our attacks aren't effective. but I don't sense any chaos. what's up with this guy. (aloud) who sent you after me!?
Death: I do not answer questions. especially from my targets.
Arthor: it was Raxis wasn't it!?
Death: like I said, I do not answer questions.
Arthor: there's other ways of finding answers. (his eyes glow dark green)
Tenebris: Arthor wait.
Arthor: Karri!
Karri: yeah! (they both start running at him. Karri spins his chains and brings one down right in front of death and dust covers him Arthor swings his violencia at death through the dust cloud. Death goes to block it with his scythe and the clash clears the dust cloud. Arthor slides past the scythe and slashes at deaths head. he dodges and karri appears next to him and kicks at his head, but he blocks it with his arm. karri wraps his chains around his arm and pulls himself into a kick to deaths chest. which knocks him back slightly. Arthor attacks several times but death blocks by spinning his scythe. karri throws a dagger which death grabs and plants into the ground and steps on the chain. arthor slashes and death blocks high and kicks arthor back. machi attacks and death redirects his axe and hits him with the end of his scythe. karri gets his dagger out of the ground and lunges in and arthor gets up and attacks. death side steps and arthor rams into karri. ulfer jumps at death and he grabs him and turns and hands him to machi then kicks machi. karri throws another chain and death grabs it and wraps it around Lykoi's arm as he tries to slash at him and pushes him. Arthor brings his weapons down and and death blocks with his scythe and shifts and hits him with the end. all of them attack together and death slams his scythe on the ground and dark blue energy burst from the ground and sends everyone backwards.
Death: As I have stated I am only here for Tenebris. but if you insist on interfering. (death puts both hands on his scythe and his eyes glow as energy swirls around him.
Tenebris: Get out of there! (it ends with a shot of him running in)
CHAPTER 101 DEATH
(The chapter opens with Death standing with dark blue and red energy swirling around him. the energy burst out and starts covering the area. as it stretches out from death the grass withers, any plant it touches shrivels up and dies. Arthor and karri fall to the ground. machi and lykoi fall to there knees. Tenebris stands with his eyes and bandages glowing. )
Death: now, we will have no distractions. (he starts running at tenebris, who runs towards him. he swings his scythe, Tenebris slides under it and throws a punch. Death spins his scythe and blocks his strike behind him. Tenebris throws some more punches which death spins and deflects and brings the scythe around and swings it upward. Tenebris barely dodges, it cuts off some of his hair. Death spins his scythe and slices at tenebris a few times who deflects it with his bandaged arm. death spins and grabs tenebris leg with the scythe and pulls it out from under him. Tenebris lands on his hands and jumps back. Death spins his scythe and throws it at tenebris who side steps it and throws a few strikes at death who parries and hits back until he holds out his hand and the scythe returns to him and he slices at tenebris, who blocks it with his bandaged arm but gets sent flying back and slams into the ground. he gets to his feet. he looks at his arm and the malmite seals on the bandages are ripped.
Tenebris: (thinking) that scythe is pure malmite. I cant block much more with the bandages or I risk the seals breaking. I might have to go all out, but without orku, I would be putting all of them in danger. (looks at the others who are struggling to get up.) I need to get them out of here.
Death: It is impressive that you are able to stand, let alone fight the way you can.
Tenebris: You can absorb a massive amount of orku. (Tenebris stands) lets see how much you can take. (Tenebris closes his eyes and his body starts glowing with light blue energy, his eyes burst into light blue flames. )
Death: (thinking) This energy...he is...
(Tenebris disappears, Death looks around. Tenebris appears next to him and throws a punch, death blocks it with his scythe but slides back from the impact. he spins his scythe around and slices at tenebris, who disappears and reappears beside him and death continues spinning and goes to kick tenebris but he blocks it. Death jumps back and sends several crescent slashes at tenebris. Tenebris dodges the first two and absorbs the third with his bandaged arm. Tenebris dodges an attack from death and lands a hit to the face sending him back. Death plants his scythe and spins around it and kicks tenebris and sends him flying back. he lands and death flies in and slices down at tenebris who disappears, death slams his scythe into the ground and blue energy cracks through the surface and large chunks of rock explode outward. Tenebris reappears next to machi whose starting to stand up. )
Machi: that guy is really starting to piss me off.
Tenebris: (energy stops) good, there's a limit to how much orku he can absorb. I need you to get the rest of them as far away as possible. I'm going to draw him to the center of the island.
Machi: got it.
Tenebris: (eyes glow as he disappears)
Death: ( pulls his scythe out of the ground and looks around. )
Tenebris: (reappears and punches death, who blocks with his scythe and gets launched back. Death flies into a tree. Tenebris appears in front of him a slams him through the tree. Death lands on his feet as Tenebris appears he slices at him. tenebris grabs the handle and goes to punch death but he catches tenebris arm and they get stuck in a strength battle. they are evenly matched until deaths eyes glow and tenebris energy starts draining and death starts over powering him. He takes takes tenebris arms and spins him around and throws him into the forest and he slams through several trees. Tenebris lands and his eye glows black and heals some injuries. he looks at his arm and the malmite bandages are ripped in several places. he looks up and sees death walking towards him with a trail of dark blue energy emanating from him, his eyes glowing like fire as he moves through the forest. all the vegetation withering as he walks by. Tenebris stands up, holding his arm. )
Death: this has gone on long enough, give it up.
Tenebris: no. I haven't lived this long to die now.
Death: then you have made your choice.
Tenebris: (eyes glow as he dashes at death. he flies in with a kick that death sidesteps, he counters with swinging at tenebris who leans back, he spins around his scythe and sweeps at tenebris legs. Tenebris disappears and reappears behind him, but death spins his scythe and blocks tenebris strike. Tenebris disappears and reapers several time each trying to land a hit but death blocks every one. Tenebris jumps off the surrounding trees and continues his fury of attacks until death lands a punch that sends tenebris flying back. Tenebris catches a tree branch and spins around it and launches himself off it away from death who follows him. Tenebris leaps from tree to tree as death cuts each one done with a single swing, until a branch brakes and tenebris looses his footing and falls to the ground. he rolls and keeps running. it cuts over to machi and the others as he helps them sit up at arthor and karri's house. )
Arthor: (clearly weak) we have to...get out there and help tenebris.
Machi: you can barely stand, you would only get in his way.
Karri: we cant just leave him to fight that guy by himself.
Machi: if you use any more orku you could start to petrify.
Arthor: well we cant do nothing.
Machi: you need to regain your orku. (he starts leaving)
Lykoi: what about you?
Machi: don't worry about me. (his eyes glow red) (he leaves) (it cuts back to tenebris who jumps out of the forest into a clearing and rolls and lands and looks up. Death cuts a tree and kicks it at tenebris punches it and it splinters around him, Death flies in and slams his scythe down on tenebris who catches the blade between his hands and the ground cracks from the impact. Death presses the blade down closer to tenebris face. )
Tenebris: (his eyes flicker black) AGGHHH! (his eyes blaze light blue and he shifts the blade to the side it cuts acrost his cheek and tenebris lands a massive hit to Deaths face. he flies back and lets go of his scythe.
Tenebris: (eye glows black as the cut heals, tenebris looks shocked) ...what?
Death: (holds his face, he looks up at tenebris and half of his mask breaks off and he has teal eyes and white hair)
CHAPTER 102 HUNGER
(The chapter opens with Tenebris standing next to Yggdrasil looking at death who is holding his face with half of his mask gone. )
Tenebris: Your Tempurian....
Death: (he takes his mask off and throws it aside.) what difference does it make if I am.
Tenebris: All the difference. if you survived then there still may be more out there.
Death: (he puts his hand out and his scythe flies to his hand) I wished to meet another Tempurian one day. but I never imagined it would be like this. I pray that the creator can forgive me for this. (his eyes glow and he dashes at tenebris and swings at him. Tenebris dodges his strikes)
Tenebris: Wait! we don't need to fight!
Death: yes we do.
Tenebris: no, we can talk this out! (he jumps back as death slams his scythe into the ground)
Death: If I don't bring you to them, they'll kill her. I cant let that happen! (deaths energy spikes as dashes at tenebris and slices at him. tenebris dodges deaths wild swing. The slash cuts down a bunch of trees and tenebris lands out of the way. )
Tenebris: We can help you, just tell me what's going on!
Death: Just die already! (death slashes a bunch of times at tenebris who dodges a lot of the slashes, but trips over a root from Yggdrasil and falls back. Death brings his scythe down with a massive amount of energy but stops right before it hits tenebris face. the ground around them cracks and a shockwave flies out. )
Tenebris: (laying on the ground with his eyes closed, he feels tear drops fall on his face. he opens his eyes and sees death crying with a face full of rage)
Death: (he tries to move his scythe forward but cant. he takes it away from tenebris face.) ...Can you really help me?
Tenebris: yes. just tell me how.
Death: (shocked his eyes stop glowing and he drops his scythe. he falls to the ground next to tenebris and cries)
(Tenebris sits up and puts an arm around him)
(Machi comes running through the forest and finds tenebris holding death crying)
Machi: what did you do to him? (it cuts to the gang in arthor and karri's house sitting around. Death sitting at a table. Karri brings out a drink and sets it on the table in front of him)
Death: thank you...you show me kindness...even after I destroyed your home. I do not deserve this.
Arthor: (angry) your right you don't. (lykoi smacks arthor in the back of the head)
Tenebris: Ignore him. lets start at the begging. who are you?
Death: the beginning? My name is Svangur. as you have already found out I am a descendant of tempura...(everyone but tenebris is shocked)
Tenebris: how did you manage to survive the Extinction of time?
Death: I survived because the kingdom powers allowed me to live. I am a Tempurian, but that is not all.
Machi: what's that supposed to mean?
Svangur: I am a descendant of all 4 original races.
Tenebris: what? how is that even possible?
Svangur: (flashback to a Tempurian castle) my Father was Tyranetus, head of the Tymea house. He believed that Tempura had lost its way. he believed that true peace could only be brought by force. The other nobles turned him away. so he took matters into his own hands. he was going to create the ultimate weapon, one stronger than any other Tempurian before. he spent years trying to find the perfect combination of races...until I was born. I was born with the ability to drain an infinite amount of orku. they called me Svangur or hunger in common as I starved everything around me of orku...even my own mother. I was too dangerous to keep around other people, so I was taken to a remote island off the coast of Apcee. I was raised as an assassin. One day legionaries came to my island they tried to kill me. so I did the only thing I knew how. after weeks of fighting they captured me. but instead of killing me they kept me as the royals personal secret assassin. I was given a specialized suit of malmite armor made to seal my power and a new name...Death. (flashback ends)
Tenebris: I'm sorry for you. believe me, I know what its like growing up as a soldier.
Svangur: you said you name was Tenebris?
Tenebris: that's right.
Svangur: I have heard of you. you were an immortal knight around the fall of tempura, if Im not mistaken.
Tenebris: Yeah...I was.
Svangur: they said you had died in saints isle.
Tenebris: maybe I did...but just like you I was given a second chance. you said that "they" took her, who?
Svangur: My wife Naomi.
Jaeja: if your the one that caused the sickness in Longra milli how do you have a wife?
Svangur: She is the creators gift to me. She was born without any orku, so I cannot drain what is not there.
Machi: huh, talk about a match made in heaven. (lykoi smacks machi upside the dome too) what!?
Svangur: A couple months ago a man approached me, said the king of Egran had a mission for me. He sent me after you. I had tracked your ship to Longra milli, but lost your trail after you entered the barrier. when I went to Egran to report I found that the king had been killed, so I returned to my island. when I arrived there I found my home in ruins. my house burned and Naomi no where to be found. the only thing that was left was a note and this blade.
Arthor: There still out there.
Svangur: who?
Tenebris: The Kongur. a cult of assassins. they took over Egran for a short time. the man who gave you the mission was one of them.
Svangur: that's how they found my island. Only the royals know about its location.
Arthor: was there a note, on where to go if you captured tenebris?
Svangur: yes. they told me they would be in Sedanss.
Arthor: well if we know where the Kongur are I say we go after them.
Tenebris: hang on Arthor...
Arthor: (stands up)..what, if we know where they are we can hit them before they know were coming.
Tenebris: we have to be smart about this...
Arthor: what do you mean? We have them dead to rights, we should go now.
Tenebris: give us a moment. (tenebris stands up and walks over to arthor.) lets go. (tenebris walks out the door and arthor looks annoyed as he follows tenebris out and closes the door)
CHAPTER 103 LIKE ME
(The chapter opens with Arthor closing the door behind him.)
Arthor: Tenebris this is our opportunity.
Tenebris: Look, I know how badly you want to take Raxis and the Kongur down, believe me, I want the same thing. but I don't think you are ready to face them yet.
Arthor: what?
Tenebris: Raxis is a powerful enemy. one that commands thousands of assassins, has multiple gifts, and has the power of chaos. you guys have not unlocked your gifts, and you don't have full control over your weapons yet.
Arthor: Tenebris, We have been training for over 4 years for this moment and now your saying that we aren't ready?
Tenebris: no, but...
Arthor: then what is it?
Tenebris: its to much of a risk.
Arthor: what?
Tenebris: Raxis always thinks 3 steps ahead, sending Svangur here could very well be part of his plan to draw us off the island. if you come with us there is no guarantee that you wont be walking into a trap.
Arthor: And what if it is a trap? if you go alone you may not come back, what then?
Tenebris: then machi will look after you.
Arthor: you cant be serious.
Tenebris: (looks at him without emotion)
Arthor: your really going to put your neck out for some guy that showed up randomly and tried to kill you!?
Tenebris: I failed to help my people once, I wont let that happen again.
Arthor: what does it matter if he's tempurian, for all we know he could be a Kongur spy with a gift that changes his appearance or energy.
Tenebris: No, he is telling the truth about who he is. all the details line up from his story. no one could have that kind of knowledge if they didn't live it.
Arthor: doesn't matter, I'm not letting you go alone to fight Raxis.
Tenebris: I'm not giving you a choice.
Arthor: If I don't have a choice then talk to the others they will tell you the exact same thing.
Tenebris: really?
Arthor: yes. and If you don't believe me ask them yourself.
Tenebris: "Hough" fine. lets see what they have to say. (arthor opens the door and they walk in to see karri, lykoi, and Svangur hiding behind the dinning table flipped on its side, while jaeja hides around the corner and Ulfer's on top of a bookshelf. machi's on the ground holding johsef in the air who is maniacally chirping while holding Svangur's scythe above his head.
Tenebris and arthor: (very confused)
Karri: sooooo...whatcha talk about? (it cuts to everyone sitting around the house with tenebris explaining himself)
Tenebris: Svangur needs help in getting back Naomi from the Kongur.
Machi: Great lets go.
Tenebris: But, I want you guys to stay inside the barrier.
everyone: what?
Tenebris: My number 1 priority is to keep each one of you safe. If you go with us, I can not guarantee that. this could be a trap, and I don't want to put any of you in that situation. so the best course is that I alone go with Svangur.
Lykoi: preposterous.
Karri: that's a big word
Lykoi: It was in my common dictionary.
Karri: cool, what he said!
Machi: Listen, I get where your coming from, I really do...
Tenebris: at least someone has some sense.
Machi: ah, I wasn't finished.
Tenebris: oh.
Machi: I get where your coming from, but that's a stupid decision. if your going we're going too.
Arthor: I told you.
Tenebris: Think about this, its too risky.
Lykoi: The pack does not leave one of its own behind.
Karri: risky or not your guardian, and more than that your our friend, we're not going to let you do this by yourself.
Svangur: do I not count
Tenebris: well then...if I cannot convince you. promise me one thing. if there is ever a point where you can save yourselves, do it. don't worry about what happens to me.
Machi: well make sure that never happens.
Tenebris: Then, I guess we leave first thing tomorrow. Svangur you can stay with machi for tonight.
Machi: what why me?
Tenebris: well my house is destroyed.
Svangur: sorry.
Tenebris: Jaeja and I will be staying with arthor and karri and Lykoi's house is up in the mountains.
Machi: that's fair.
Tenebris: prepare what you can, and get some rest.
(it cuts to everyone asleep in their homes. but Tenebris is out walking through town. he comes to the rubble of his house and he digs though it and finds a shattered picture frame with a panting of him and his friends in it. he dusts it off and continues digging and finds the mask and sword that hung on his wall. it cuts to him walking back to arthor and karri's, he goes to open the door when he sees Nikki standing in the forest. She looks at him and starts walking away. he puts the stuff down and starts walking towards her. she walks behind a tree and disappears, Tenebris looks around and sees her further away. he runs towards her but misses her again. he follows her for a while until he finds himself at the ruins of the library. )
Tenebris: what are you trying to show me? (Nikki walks behind a boulder. Tenebris runs over and looks behind it and she's gone. but the entrance to Taresseus chamber is there with rocks filling it. Tenebris eyes glow as he starts taking rocks out. he makes his way down and squeezes through the caved in tunnel holding his hand out with light blue fire for a light. he comes to the boulder that blocks off the entrance. Tenebris eyes glow and he puts his hand on the rock and the fire spreads acrost it and shatters it, some rocks fall down as tenebris steps back. tenebris clears the dust and walks into the caved in chamber. he follows the wall to a picture of Taresseus holding a book and his hand outstretched. Tenebris remembers karri putting his hand up to the handprint before and does the same as his eyes glow Taresseus eyes glow and a small hatch opens up. he looks inside and a grabs a book with a black cover. on the front is a crescent moon with a lighting bolt in the middle made of gold inlay.)
Tenebris: is this what you wanted me to find? (he squeezes back out of the tunnel and looks at the book. in his hands. then looks up at the night sky)
CHAPTER 104 STRONG ENOUGH
(The chapter opens in the morning with johsef waking karri up by pecking him. )
Karri: ow ow okay im awake stop, STOP!
Arthor: shut up im trying to sleep! (throws a pillow at them. karri looks at johsef)
Johsef: "determined chirp as he nods" (karri walks over holding johsef. he tosses johsef up in the air a little ways and he comes down with a power slam on arthor as it cuts to machi cracking some eggs into a skillet. Svangur walks up)
Svangur: thank you for accommodating me, I hopped I was not a burden in any way.
Machi: ahh, don't worry about it. hey you said you were this kinda mixture between races, does that mean you know about the giants?
Svangur: unfortunately, my father was the only real contact I had for many years, I don't really know who my mother was.
Machi: oh, well, sorry about that.
Svangur: I assume you are a descendant of the giant clan?
Machi: how could you tell?
Svangur: well its obvious from your....energy.
Machi: your good. eggs? (it cuts to lykoi and ulfer packing supplies into a bag inside big tent. )
Lykoi: (finishes packing) ready to go?
Ulfer: "bark"
Lykoi: your right. (goes into a icebox and grabs a big piece of meat) one for the road. (he throws the bag around his back and pushes aside the tents doorway and he walks out onto a plateau on a mountain with supplies all around the tent.) lets get going. they start walking down a path as it zooms out and cuts to Tenebris and Jaeja at the docks with bags packed.) (everyone walks up with bags ready)
Tenebris: I'll give you one more chance to reconsider.
Machi: I'm considering it...yeah I'm good.
Karri: same here.
Lykoi: all good
Arthor: you know my answer.
Tenebris: very well, lets get going then.
Svangur: wait, I just wanted to say...thank you. all of you. even after I attacked you. you still offer your help. I can not begin to express my gratitude.
Arthor: well we haven't done anything yet. so save your thanks for when we get your wife back.
Svangur: (bows slightly)
Jaeja: (from the ship) we don't got all day lets go! (they all get onto Jaeja's boat and set off. a bright light shines and they leave the barrier. )
Tenebris: You said Sedanss, do you have a more specific location?
Svangur: The western mountains.
Tenebris: then we will go there.
Jaeja: I don't think this ship will make it acrost the thousand isles. but I may have something that can.
Tenebris: a ship?
Jaeja: you'll see.
( after several hours they get to longa milli. they pull around to the docks.)
Jaeja: there she is.
Tenebris: it cant be....
(the gang look at the docks and see a medium sized Legionary warship with red sails and a crescent moon on them. )
Jaeja: the brand new, crimson moon!
Everyone: whoa, that's awesome!, sick name.
Jaeja: (walks over to Tenebris) I tried to make it just like your stories.
Tenebris: You made that?
Jaeja: I figured that you were going to need a ship eventually and I was getting tired of them never coming back, so I used some of the gold you gave me to commission your own.
Tenebris: I don't know what to say. Thank you.
Jaeja: Just don't destroy this one right away.
Tenebris: you got it. (they dock next to the boat and they take the supplies from Jaeja's ship and transfer it over to the crimson moon. Tenebris runs his hand along the side of the ship.
Arthor: you good?
Tenebris: yeah...just...taking it in.
Karri: We got our own ship! (he runs down under the deck)
Machi: this is amazing.
Jaeja: take care. (he shakes Tenebris hand)
Tenebris: likewise. ( shakes Jaeja's hand. he walks aboard the ship and brings up the ramp.)
Jaeja: oh and Tenebris!
Tenebris: yeah!?
Jaeja: Don't die!
Tenebris: (laughs) no promises!
Tenebris: (stands at the helm in disbelief)
Machi: what do you say captain?
Tenebris: lets get going. (they drop the sails and Tenebris turns the wheel as they start going out of the docks)
