The Former Vessel Warlock

You once served as the host of an Immortal, be it willing or unwilling, that forced its will upon your body. Though they are gone, your form still bears the strain of such divine occupation. That power lingers within you; dangerous, unstable, and not entirely your own.

Echoes Within

A fragment of the Immortal’s will lingers in your mind.

You always have the detect thoughts spell prepared. It doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare, and you can cast it once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to cast it in this way when you finish a Long Rest.

In addition, once per turn when a creature fails a saving throw against one of your Warlock spells, that creature takes extra Psychic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

Level 6: Overchannel Vessel

You can force your body to reopen itself to the power it once contained.

As a Bonus Action, you enter an Overchannel state that lasts for 1 minute or until you end it (no action required).

While in this state:

  • You have Resistance to Radiant and Necrotic damage
  • Once per turn, when you deal damage, you deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage
  • You have Advantage on Constitution and Willpower saves

At the end of each of your turns while in this state, you take 1d6 Psychic damage, which ignores Resistance and Immunity.

You can use this feature once, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a Long Rest. You can also expend a Pact Magic spell slot to use it again.

Level 10: Fractured Soul

Your soul has been reshaped and is difficult to influence.

You gain the following benefits:

  • You have Resistance to Psychic damage
  • You have Immunity to the Charmed condition
  • You have Immunity to effects that would possess you

Level 14: Blashphemous Ascension

You can briefly assume a form reminiscent of the power that once controlled you.

As a Magic action, you transform for 1 minute. While transformed:

  • You gain a Flying Speed equal to your Speed and can hover
  • Creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you have Disadvantage on saving throws against your Warlock spells
  • When you cast a Warlock spell, you can treat it as if it were cast using a spell slot one level higher than the slot you expend (maximum level 5)
  • Once per turn, when you deal damage, you can change its damage type to Radiant, Necrotic, or Psychic

When the transformation ends, you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 10 + the number of rounds you spent in the form) or gain one level of Exhaustion.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
