Description | Requiring swift thought and even quicker timing, it should come as no surprise that the Ruby Order, reknowned as the collegiate of the Magisterium that produces the most true war-mages, has within their discipline such a basic defensive application, and one that is rather easy to learn and master, another sort of building block fundamental spell-form, one preferred, generally speaking, by those Ruby Magisters whom intend to be something of a battle-mage up and in the thick of confrontation or even military conflict. Spell-Weave DCs: 11, Tier II: 16, Tier III: 21 Realizing, in the heat of battle and in a moment of increased reactivity due to the thrum of Doitean naturally flowing through you, your adrenaline allows you to react swiftly to protect yourself. So long as you have line of sight on a foe attempting to attack you, and were aware of their presence before they attempted to attack you, and they are in range, you may target them. When you do, you immediately force them to roll the attack again, treating this as Misfortune (so they use whichever roll is lower, the new one or the original). The target must also make an Reflex Save. If they fail, they gain the Blinded (1) Condition. This is merely a pass or fail test. Tier -1: Fail to cast, roll a Minor Miscast Tier 0: Fail to cast Tier II: Range becomes 100 feet. Tier III: Range becomes 150 feet. |
