A local defender of Hearthglen armed with whatever armor and weapons could be gathered before the undead reached the town. Some are hunters, farmers, guards, or former soldiers. They are not as disciplined as Lordaeron footmen, but they know the town and are desperate to protect their families.

Defend the Homestead. While within Hearthglen or defending civilians, the Militia Defender has advantage on saving throws against being frightened. Town Familiarity. The Militia Defender ignores nonmagical difficult terrain caused by Hearthglen’s streets, fences, wagons, and common obstacles.
Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 5 piercing damage. 1d6+2 Hunting Bow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 5 piercing damage. 1d6+2
Fall Back! One allied civilian within 10 feet may move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Desperate Guard. When a civilian within 5 feet is targeted by an attack, the Militia Defender may grant that civilian +2 AC against the triggering attack.
