Homebrew
In the world of S.T.A.L.L. …hags are a pervasive presence—if not in reality, then certainly in rumor and whispered accusation. Tales of hags, or of individuals suspected of being hags, circulate throughout every corner of the Known World. Nearly every community, no matter how remote or insular, has its own story of someone—male or female, as hags in S.T.A.L.L. can be of any gender—who possessed the uncanny ability to solve any problem, no matter how dire. Yet, their aid always came at a price.
The most notable and undeniably real hags are those who form the Eastern Covens in the Feywild. It is said that generations of infighting and intrigue have elevated them all to the rank of Arch-Hag. Many consider their removal from the Known World to be one of the few blessings brought about by the curse on planar travel. When the subject of the Eastern Covens arises, conversations often end with the saying, “A plane away makes for a safer day.”
Rarity. Rare. While rare, it is not inconceivable that a creature could have more than a few encounters—or know of more than one—hag within their average lifespan.
Notable Locations. The most noteworthy locations of hag power and presence all reside within the Feywild.
SPECIAL TRAITS (Always)
Claws. You have talons that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d4 plus your Dexterity modifier slashing damage.
Darkvision. You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
Hag Magic. Once per Long Rest, when you cast a spell in which you use a material component instead of an arcane focus, you may choose to impose Advantage or Disadvantage on rolls associated with the spell.
Hag Spellcasting. All spells granted by your species (referred to henceforth as Hag spells) are cast with your Hag spellcasting ability; each Hag Lineage will define which ability is used. You always have these spells prepared and may cast a number of Hag spells at their base level a number of times per Long Rest equal to your Hag spellcasting modifier (minimum of 1) without needing or expending spell slots or requiring material components.
You know the Shift Appearance cantrip as well as one other Bard, Druid, Sorcerer, or Wizard cantrip of your choice. Whenever you gain a Character Level, you may exchange one of these cantrips for another qualifying cantrip of your choice.
Knowledge in the Blood. You were born with some innate knowledge imparted to you from the hags that came before you in your bloodline. Gain proficiency in either Arcana or History.
Hag Lineage. You are part of a lineage that grants you unique abilities. Choose a lineage from the Hag Lineages list: Annis, Bheur, Green, Night, or Sea.
