Linear Cut - Fire a concentrated line of plasma energy as an Attack action, expending 5 charges of the weapon's Power Cell. The line of plasma energy is fast, emitting a 90 by 5 foot long beam from where you stand. It deals 2d8 Lightning and 2d8 Fire damage in its area of effect. It moves at a speed of 30 feet per turn, for a duration of 3 turns before dissipating. All targets caught in the beam must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Intelligence modifier. Undead have disadvantage on their saving throws. On a failed save, a target takes the rolled damage, and lightning arcs to a nearby secondary target within 10 feet, dealing your Proficiency Bonus in Lightning damage to that target. On a successful save, a target only takes half damage.
Linear Mine - Launch a laser tripwire emitter mine as an Attack action, expending 5 charges of the weapon's Power Cell, and will remain in place until you deactivate it and recall it as a Bonus Action. You may have a number of mines placed equal to your Proficiency Bonus. If you recall it before it activates its plasma beam, you regain 5 charges. Place a 120 foot long line. The tripwire mine does not activate until a target enters that line. On activation, the mine emits a 120x5 foot beam of plasma for a duration of 1 minute or until it is deactivated. Any targets that enter the area of effect on their turn or start their turn inside the area of effect must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Intelligence modifier. Undead have disadvantage on their saving throws. On a failed save, a target takes the rolled damage, and begin Burning if they are flammable, taking 1d8 Fire damage at the start of each of their turns until the condition ends. On a successful save, a target only takes half damage.
Wide Linear Cut - Fire a wide line of plasma energy as an Attack action, expending 10 charges of the weapon's Power Cell. The line of plasma energy travels slowly, starting off as a 30 foot, 15 foot wide beam from where you stand. It deals 2d8 Lightning and 2d8 Fire damage in its area of effect. It moves at a speed of 30 feet per turn, for a duration of 3 turns before dissipating. All targets caught in the beam must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Intelligence modifier. Undead have disadvantage on their saving throws. On a failed save, a target takes the rolled damage, and lightning arcs to a nearby secondary target within 10 feet, dealing your Proficiency Bonus in Lightning damage to that target. On a successful save, a target only takes half damage.
Special Properties
Electric Shock - Targets that have been hit with this weapon's Wide Linear Cut and its Linear Cut cannot take opportunity attacks until the start of your next turn.
Incendiary - Targets struck with this weapon's Linear Mine must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + Your Proficiency Bonus + Intelligence Modifier or start Burning, taking 1d8 Fire damage at the start of each of their turns until the condition is ended. This will ignite any carried flammable objects as well.
Maiming - This weapon has the potential to Maim a target when the target rolls a critical failure on their saving throw.
Mining Equipment - Gives advantage on any checks to obtain materials from rocks by spending 5 charges.
Rechargeable - Expended Power Cells will recharge fully after finishing a Long Rest.

A miniaturization of a vehicle-mounted ore cutter, the M-8220-OC is a powerful electrothermal cutter that creates tunneling fractures in ore to prepare the materials for extraction. Applied to organic structures, though, it functions like a high powered plasma cutter. It creates a wide, slow-traveling plasma arc that it ejects at speed, which passes through most objects. Improvements to the plasma arc generator can widen the track of the projectile. The weapon also has an alternative fire mode where it can deploy a laser-triggered cutting beam emitter that repeatedly sends pulses once it starts for a short duration, dealing substantial damage to targets caught in the beam.
