Darkvision: You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Keen Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.   Bakemono: You have advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks you make to determine illusions, and on Wisdom (Insight) checks you make to determine whether someone is lying to you.   Bakasu: You have proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Acrobatics, Deception, Perception, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, or Survival.   Subrace: Choose a subrace Kitsune, Tanuki, or Bakeneko

Kitsune

  • Kitsunebi: You are able to cast the Dancing Lights, Firebolt, Control Flames cantrips at will.
  • Kyubi no Kitsune: You have a fox-like tail, and you grow more tails as you grow in knowledge and experience: two tails at 3rd level, three tails at 5th level, four tails at 7th level, five tails at 9th level, six tails at 11th level, seven tails at 13th level, eight tails at 15th level, and nine tails at 17th level.
  • If you miss with an attack roll or fail an ability check or a saving throw, you can draw on your gained knowledge to gain a bonus to the roll equal to your proficiency bonus. You can use this trait a number of times equal to the number of tails you have, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest, and you can use it no more than once per turn.

Tanuki

  • Bake-danuki: You can cast Minor Illusion at will.
  • Bakeru: You can cast Alter Self without expending a spell slot. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest. You may only select Change Appearance with Alter Self. You can also cast these spells using any spell slots you have. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells (choose the ability when you select this race).

Bakeneko

  • Neko-te: You have claws that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Dexterity modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
  • Nekomaho: You know the Mind Sliver cantrip. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Hex spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the Detect Thoughts spell with this trait. Once you cast Hex or Detect Thoughts with this trait, you can't cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).
