Veylin is a meticulous and eccentric gnome with ink-stained fingers and half-moon spectacles that always seem to slide down his nose. He was once a scribe for a powerful wizard but left after a misfired spell turned his hair permanently blue. Now, he runs the bastion’s scriptorium, carefully transcribing spells onto parchment with an almost obsessive level of precision. He mutters incantations under his breath as he writes and often complains about the "lack of proper lighting for delicate arcane work." Despite his grumbles, he takes great pride in his craft and secretly adds tiny artistic flourishes to each scroll.
