Homecoming Report
General Summary
The Lost Sons stayed rested at the Sand Temple until nightfall. The Aure'ellar twins, Merrwyn and Alnoth, asked for assistance in laying the dead to rest. The Aure were burned, and their ashes sent to the stars in their cultural ritual. As they did so, Alnoth whispered a prayer to the Sleeper and invoked Shira'tol. These things meant little to the party but were clearly important to the twins. They took care of the bodies of the Ziin and dumped the bodies of the traitorous guards into the sand pits.
After the funeral rites were finished, the Lost Sons moved out, now with the Vizier, Ismail, Pots, Smiles, and the two Aure in tow. They hurriedly moved through the desert and returned to the village where their barge was waiting. The same captain greeted them, happy to see their return. She showed off the benefits of the reward they received for slaying the river beast. She had her old barge repaired and a larger one being built. She gladly took the Sons and their mounts on her ship downriver again to the capital.
After a day of travel on the river, the Lost Sons arrived at Mahd Alhadara. They were greeted by some veterans of the Sons and met with the Old Man. On the way back to the garrison, Aurelia's sister, Ionnia, filled them in on all the events that had happened while they were gone.
The scars of the riots were still visible throughout the city. Some districts were burnt to the ground, the ruins still smoldering. It would take some time to adjust to the new reality of living in a Sitaar where slaves were free and civil war darkened the horizon. The Sons took a day to rest before meeting with the Old Man again.
He informed them that they expected more trouble with the Dream Singers. Despite the fact that the Crowned Prince seized the treasury, the Lost Sons were still wanting for resources. The party was asked to take another assignment after a short downtime. They were given the option to go back to the underground city they had found to scavenge what they could from there, to investigate why the iron mines near Sidikah, or to connect with the mountain tribes near Djede. The Aure twins also asked for help being escorted to the border of Gehnnia to deliver a message.
With only a week of rest before their next assignment, the party set about their personal business.
