[\/b]You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when\r\nyou gain this race.\r\n\r\n[b]Chitin Plating. [\/b]The chitin plating of beetlefolk is much\r\nmore durable than of other Insectoids. When you aren't\r\nwearing armor, your AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You\r\ncan use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor\r\nyou wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits\r\napply as normal while you use your natural armor.\r\n[b]Secondary Limbs.[\/b] You have two slightly smaller\r\nsecondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The\r\nsecondary arms function like your primary arms, with the\r\nfollowing exceptions:\r\n[ul]\r\n[li]You can use a secondary arm to wield a weapon that has\u00a0the light property, but you can\u2019t use a secondary arm to\u00a0wield other kinds of weapons.[\/li]\r\n[li]You can\u2019t wield a shield with a secondary arm.[\/li]\r\n[\/ul]\r\n[h1]Subrace.[\/h1]\r\nThere are six subraces of beetlefolk:\r\nrhinoceros beetles, stag beetles, harlequinn\r\nbeetles, fireflies, scarabs, and ladybugs.\r\nChoose one of these subraces.\r\n[h2]Firefly[\/h2]\r\nFireflies are an adventurous people. They're usually nomads,\r\nexplorers, treasure hunters, cartographers and\r\nhistorians. Their ability to generate light and\r\nwarmth makes them extremely capable of\r\nexploring unknown places of all kinds, from\r\ncaves to swamps, forests to mountains, old ruins\r\nand ancient hives. Fireflies are always on the go,\r\nnever settling anywhere for too long.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Wisdom score\r\nincreases by 2.\r\n\r\n[b]Wings. [\/b]You don't take damage from falling and always\r\nland on your feet. Should you be knocked prone, have\r\nyour speed reduced to 0, or are otherwise deprived of\r\nthe ability to move before you land, you take damage\r\nfrom falling as normal.\r\n\r\n[b]Fluorescent Body.[\/b] As a bonus action, you can\r\nmake your abdomen shed bright light in a 20-foot radius\r\nand dim light for an additional 20 feet. You can dim the light\r\nusing another bonus action.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, using an action you can let your\r\nfluorescent organ flare up in a flash of light. Every creature in\r\na 5 foot radius is blinded until the end of your next turn. Once\r\nyou use this ability, you can't do so again until you finish a\r\nlong rest.\r\n\r\n[b]Adventurer's Talent. [\/b]You gain proficiency in one skill of\r\nyour choice: Acrobatics, Perception, Nature,\r\nor Survival.\r\n\r\n[h2]Harlequin Beetle[\/h2]\r\nHarlequin beetles have a hunched stature. Their\r\nframe is broad but thin. Elaborate patterns of\r\nblack, blue, and greenish-yellow markings adorn\r\ntheir chitin. Their upper pair of arms is long\r\nand muscular, giving them the reach to swing\r\nfrom branch to branch, while they use their\r\nweaker lower pair for more minute tasks.\r\nHarlequins like to live in remote\r\nsettlements, deep within the great forest\r\nof the world. Although not outright hostile\r\nto foreigners, they enjoy their quiet way\r\nof life and don't consider people who\r\nendanger it fondly.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Dexterity\r\nscore increases by 2.\r\n\r\n[b]Born Climbers.[\/b] You gain a climbing\r\nspeed equal to your base walking speed.\r\n\r\n[b]Slim Build.[\/b] You can move through the space of\r\nany creature that is of a size larger than yours.\r\n\r\n[b]Stalker's Talent.[\/b] You gain proficiency in one skill of\r\nyour choice: Acrobatics, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, or\r\nSurvival.\r\n\r\n[h2]Ladybug[\/h2]\r\nMost insectoids will tell you that Ladybugs are the least\r\nthreatening race of Insectopia. And when you look upon their\r\nsmall and round stature, that statement is confirmed.\r\nLadybugs chitin comes in striking red, black, yellows, and\r\noranges, spotted with black, white, or red dots.\r\nTheir inviting and cute appearance is further\r\naccentuated by their demeanor. Ladybugs are naturally\r\nkind and friendly to everyone. They try to make each\r\nbug feel calm and happy. As such, many insectoids\r\nenjoy the company of a Ladybug very much.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Charisma Score\r\nincreases by 2.\r\n\r\n[b]Calming Touch.[\/b] You know the friends cantrip.\r\nWhen you reach 3rd level, you can cast the\r\ncharm person spell once with this trait and regain\r\nthe ability to do so when you finish a long rest.\r\nWhen you reach 5th level, you can cast the\r\ncalm emotions spell once and regain the ability to\r\ndo so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is\r\nyour spellcasting ability for these spells.\r\n\r\n[b]Soothing Buzz.[\/b] At the end of a long rest, you\r\nregain all your spent Hit Dice.\r\n\r\n[b]Doctor's Talent.[\/b] You gain proficiency in one skill\r\nof your choice: Insight, Medicine, Performance, or\r\nPersuasion.\r\n\r\n[h2]Rhinoceros Beetle[\/h2]\r\nRhinoceros beetles are some of the most giant beetles of\r\nall, standing up to mighty 7 ft. in size. Their muscular\r\nframe and the huge horn protruding from their\r\nforehead make it clear to everybody that they are not to\r\nbe messed with. Especially male rhinos tend to be very\r\nproud of their horns size and shape, which is seen as a\r\nsign of great prowess and strength.\r\nRhinos are known\r\nto be fierce warriors and look back on a long line of\r\nlegendary fighters. However, they are known for their\r\nhot-headedness and aggression. Many rhinos would\r\npick a fight if just irritated slightly or just out of sheer\r\nboredom.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Strength score\r\nincreases by 2.\r\n\r\n[b]Horn.[\/b] Your horn is a natural weapon, which you can use to\r\nmake unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing\r\ndamage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier.\r\n\r\n[b]Goring Rush.[\/b] As a bonus action, you can move up to your\r\nspeed toward an enemy of your choice that you can see or\r\nhear. If you end your movement within 5 feet of the target,\r\nyou can immediately make one melee attack with your horn\r\nas a free action. You must end this move closer to the enemy\r\nthan you started.\r\n\r\n[b]Brawler's Talent.[\/b] You gain proficiency in one skill of your\r\nchoice: Animal Handling, Athletics, Perception, or\r\nIntimidation.\r\n\r\n[h2]Stag Beetle[\/h2]\r\nStag beetles are just slightly shorter than their rhinoceros\r\ncousins but make up for it in width. Their build is broad and\r\nstocky, giving the stags their fabled constitution. Their most\r\nimpressive assets are the antler-like pincers sprouting from\r\ntheir head, able to put even the rowdiest client into a tight\r\nchokehold.\r\n\r\nStags are known to be jovial people. They enjoy drinking\r\nand feasting, laughing and sharing stories amongst friendly\r\ncompany. Their loud-mouthed behavior might be annoying at\r\ntimes, but it is also what makes them so endearing.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Strength score increases by\r\n1 and your Constitution score increases by 1.\r\n\r\n[b]Hardy.[\/b] As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Hit Die, roll it,\r\nand regain hit points equal to the number rolled. You can't\r\nuse this feature again until you finish long rest.\r\n\r\n[b]Powerful Pincers.[\/b] Stag Beetles can use their powerful\r\nPincers to grapple their foes. You gain advantage on checks\r\nmade to grapple creatures or prevent creatures from\r\nescaping your grapple. Additionally, you count as one size\r\nlarger for the purpose of grappling.\r\n\r\n[b]Carouser's Talent. [\/b]You gain proficiency in one skill of your\r\nchoice: Athletics, Insight, Performance, or Persuasion.\r\n\r\n[h2]Scarab[\/h2]\r\nThe body of a scarab is small and round. Their chitin is\r\ncolored in mat black and dark blue, though some are born\r\nwith golden markings on their exoskeleton. These markings\r\nare often seen as signs of a promising future.\r\n\r\nScarabs are descendants of great empires. Their masterful\r\narchitecture can be seen in well-preserved ruins that stand\r\nacross millennia. In addition, their innate ability to mold the\r\nearth and natural intelligence makes them significant assets\r\nfor any expanding kingdom.\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Intelligence Score increases\r\nby 2.\r\n\r\n[b]Artisans of the Ages.[\/b] You gain proficiency with one of the\r\nfollowing artisan's tools of your choice: calligrapher's\r\nsupplies, mason's tools, or tinker's tools.\r\n\r\n[b]Scholar's Talent.[\/b] You gain proficiency with two skills of\r\nyour choice: Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion.\r\n\r\n[b]Earth Shaper.
