While there are some upsides to the new system, not being able to scroll through your timeline and quickly looking at titles/description is a major annoyance. If nothing else titles of events should always be visible.

I am closing this since there is a solution (FOR NOW) and we will never revert fully to the previous version. Also keep in mind the new timelines have 2 modes. The second mode is an exact copy of the old system

You can switch a Timeline to the old style by going to options and switching to "List" format. You can even go back and forth depending on which format is most useful at that moment.
