I think this would make the feature request system more robust and get more people involved in WA's awesome creation process.
Give me an opt in / opt out option, and yes please. I got all these coins to spend, mannnnn
I would feed it to a custom discord channel that could be muted but otherwise great idea
I already have borderline attention deficit disorder from the number of things (in the internet in general, not specifically WA) that sent me notifications about their quotidian activity whether I care or not. I wouldn't be against an opt in but I'd definitely want the default to be opt out. It just doesn't seem that hard to me to visit the suggestion page when you're interested and not when you're nagged.
I like the idea of opt-in notifications for suggestions, but make the opt-out be default. We used to have suggestion notifications, but people got so annoyed by them that a bunch of suggestions asked to remove the notifications. I think the happy medium is to have an opt-in/opt-out option, with the default on opt-out, so that those who want notifications can have them, while accommodating the folks for whom such notifications drive nuts.
They're sorted by date descending, no? Now I wouldn't mind for the list to say which ones I already voted on, 'cause sometimes I leave one since I want to ruminate on it for a bit, but I don't see the point in notifications.
WA already notifies you if someone you follow posts a suggestion. Getting a notif for every new suggestion would make it harder to track ones I care about, harder to manage notifications in general, and has potential to inundate people with notifications they don't want. An alternative could be automatically marking a suggestion as Reviewed if you've clicked the link, or Voted if you've submitted a response. Or a way to opt-in to notifications, like tracking the request board in general or requests within a certain category.
100%! I love scrolling through the suggestions to see what people feel like they need, but I also keep forgetting to check for new ones.
