The current article copy feature is nice, but it states explicitly that it does not copy everything.
Feature suggestion : allow to copy all the text from all the fields when duplicating an article (including all specific fields, headers, footers, ...)
Why? Use case example: I use articles for sessions reports (it is an article type). I use most of the fields from the session report ("Rewards granted", "Mission completed", "Date", "Primary Location", "Related Plots", ...) It makes sense that many special fields can be very similar from one session to another. And these are not specific, it can be "scattered" all around the specific fields.
Current situation : even with the current "duplicate article" feature, we need to open 2 windows side by side, and make roughly 15-20 copy/paste to duplicate an article then edit what needs to be edited which is specific to the copied article.
I explicitly showed the example of the typed article Session report but it can benefit to all types of articles.
YEs! I make event pages for our writing game and this would be really handy! I'd like it in the editor side, not having to go and copy the article from the reading side.
I agree with Joella. It makes sense that we can't duplicate with the bi-directional links, but duplicating all text fields would be a huge help. I recently learned it doesn't duplicate base fields like Credits and Author's Notes.
If it's too much work to handle the bi-directional database links, it would still be really helpful if you could copy the text fields. (That seems like it wouldn't be much of a performance hit.)
