What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently in timelines, you are unable to link conflicts to historical events. Wars, battles and other conflicts definitely seem like the kind of thing that you should be able to link in historical events.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Currently, conflicts that I want to link to historical events have to be saved as generic articles, as one of them can be linked per event. It would be significantly more convenient to be able to build a conflict using the conflict template, and have the ability to link them to historical events. Image above to show what can currently be linked.The Team's Response
Thanks for your suggestion! Military conflict will be added as a connection to the event. We recommend not using the generic article as a workaround for this, as you'd need to migrate every conflict article you've created as Generic when we implement this. As a workaround, we recommend using the mention system to link the articles from the event's text box manually.

on 2024-08-23 10:59There are a few things about the linking of articles to events that feel a bit arbitrary and this is certainly one of the most surprising (others include what is "multiple" and what is "singular", for example, events can't be associated with multiple locations even though they can be associated with multiple characters and organizations). That said, you can work around this issue by adding links to any kind of article in the description. But I would like to see conflicts elevated to the same level as the other types in the screen shot, to give them privileged formatting within the event detail display.
