What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
When adding the familial relationship between characters the only options are for marriage and siblings. I think parenthood either biological or adopted would or could be just as important.How does this feature request address the current situation?
I think adding parents/children to the family type in the same place as siblings and marriage makes just as much sense. What are other uses for this feature request? Other family types such as aunts, uncles, or cousins could also be added in a way to make a more direct family tree as opposed to a lengthy one.The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! The Familial Type drop-down affects family trees, which is why it doesn't have parenthood options (parenthood is already defined by the family trees). We realize that the UI doesn't quite reflect that though, so we'll work on updating both the UI and the documentation to make it clearer. To define in the relationships widget that a relationship between two characters is of parent and child, you can use the free text fields under "Relationship Type".

on 2024-10-18 13:52The family trees need some help desperately, I've noticed that one person having children with multiple other people seems to quickly break the relationships tab. Having the tree be constructed with no real user input is a mistake, IMO, and having any sort of way to customize it (beyond just positive or negative relationships) would be a great help!

on 2024-10-10 05:32I personally prefer how parents-children relationships are shown now (more Wikipedia-like, less messy). As longs as it's adding parenthood to the "relations" thingy, not moving it from where it is, I'm on board.
