Embed YouTube video playlists and YouTube Music playlists in articles

youtube -embed -widget

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, you can embed single YouTube videos using bbcode, but if you want to add a full playlist, you have to create an iFrame. This is tedious and sometimes does not render or format properly.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

If there was a way to directly embed playlists into articles, it would be more convenient. I honestly am uncertain what it would entail to create such a thing, or if it is even possible in the site currently, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask.

What are other uses for this feature request?

In addition to allowing full playlists of related videos in a page, I think this feature would be helpful for music playlists.
I recently had an annoying experience with Spotify that caused me to want to split ways from them. I already wasn't into Spotify, but I eventually signed up (years ago) due to everyone using it. Lots of people share Spotify playlists, but if you aren't logged in (or don't have an account), you can't listen to the full song. This is why I used to stick to YouTube. YouTube has since made a service in attempt to compete with the likes of Spotify. It's called YouTube Music (https://music.youtube.com/). This site actually allows you to create playlists, too. It's basically a player for YouTube (and the videos can still be found at the same url if you take the music. off of the beginning of the url lol) but I have reverted back to using this since Spotify deleted my playlist and didn't tell me which song was considered in violation to be added to a public playlist due to 'copyright issues'. I know that my Spotify troubles aren't necessary to be shared here in detail (anyone can feel free to ask me about them more through DMs or something) but I would love if I could embed YouTube Music playlists instead of Spotify. Me, personally. I'M NOT ASKING TO DELETE THE SPOTIFY WIDGET FOR ANYONE ELSE LOL. It would just be nice to add the YouTube playlist widget or something if possible.   Nevertheless, thanks and God bless. I appreciate you all and all the awesome things you do. <3

I don't even have a Spotify account. I also think this would be great for other reasons - if someone wants to make lore videos or pronunciation videos for example.

I'm not too familiar with how to embed music into my work but it is something I've wanted. Having the option for a playlist seems good to me

This would be helpful for putting playlists of YouTube videos that inspired/informed you in an article too.

I have wished for this in the past but never considered putting in a request, thank you! YouTubeMusic definitely doesn't seem to be as popular as Spotify, but it's what I prefer and I would make use of this feature! (Especially on my current project) <3

I can see how this would be useful and while I listen to my own music most of the time, I do support this idea :)

Putting playlists and music into articles would help with characterization or locations. Could really feel like someone is in that world instead of silence.

Would love to have this! I don't use Spotify at all, so being able to embed my Youtube playlists instead would be awesome.

Personally I'd prefer to just embed music as is but silly DMCA and all that. Maybe in the future things will change. I'm not necessarily a fan of youtube because I feel they put their thumb on the scale alot of the time but I still use alot of their playlists when writing or drawing. If they just made a good paid service instead of trying to fleece everyone with ads maybe they wouldn't have a problem with money but they seem obsessed with pissing everyone off...
