An user without a WA account cant follow a world in order to be notify when new content is available.

Permit to follow a world an solicitate an email at least to notify of new content.

What are other uses for this feature request?

In the email that arrive, the user can unsubscribe to alerts of the specific world.

If you're providing an email, you might as well just make an account, it only takes about one more step than that. Besides, if following only requires an email, that opens up the door to spam/bot/privacy issues.
