Plowblade

Wondrous Item

Legendary Requires Attunement by a Druid, Cleric (Nature Domain), or Ranger Requires Attunement

Plowblade Properties
  • Blessing of the Land: Gefjun’s Plowblade can till the most barren soil, bringing life and fertility wherever it is used.
  • Fertile Earth: As an action, the wielder can drag the plowblade across the ground, transforming a 30-foot square of barren or infertile land into fertile soil, suitable for crops. This effect lasts indefinitely, permanently altering the terrain.
  • Land's Bounty: Once per day, you can cast Plant Growth in a 150-foot radius around you. In addition to enriching the land, any plants in the area that bear fruit or crops produce twice the normal yield for the next year.
  • Tiller of the Earth: The plowblade is both a weapon and a symbol of cultivation.
  • Divine Furrow: Once per long rest, you can use the plowblade to cut a path in the ground, summoning a furrow of magical energy that travels in a 60-foot line and 10-foot-wide area. Creatures within the furrow must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 6d10 force damage and be knocked prone, as the very earth shifts and upheaves beneath them. On a successful save, they take half damage and aren’t knocked prone. After the furrow is made, the land becomes fertile and ready to plant.
  • Combat Properties
  • Weapon Bonuses: You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with Gefjun’s Plowblade.
  • Harvesting Strike: When you hit a creature with the plowblade, the impact resonates with the force of life-giving energy. Once per turn, the first time you hit with the plowblade, you deal an additional 2d6 radiant damage to the target.
  • If the creature you hit is a construct, undead, or a creature of unnatural origin, the radiant damage is increased to 4d6. If the creature is a plant, the radiant damage instead becomes healing, restoring 4d6 hit points to the target.
  • Earthshaker’s Thrust: Once per short rest, as an acti:on, you can drive the plowblade into the ground, causing a shockwave in a 20-foot radius. Creatures in the area must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked back 15 feet and take 3d12 bludgeoning damage. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not knocked back.
  • Blessings of Gefjun
  • Fertility Aura: Gefjun’s blessing ensures the prosperity of both land and people. While attuned to the Plowblade, you and friendly creatures within 30 feet of you gain the benefits of Heroes’ Feast (as the spell) once per long rest, when resting near a fertile area you have enriched with the Plowblade. The feast manifests as fresh produce and grains from the enriched land, revitalizing those who partake.
  • Cycle of Growth and Decay: Twice per long rest, you can cast either Blight or Greater Restoration (no components required) using Gefjun’s Plowblade. This represents Gefjun's dominion over both the cycles of growth and natural decay.
  • Plow of Souls: When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with the plowblade, you can choose to release a surge of life force into the ground beneath them. The area within a 10-foot radius of the creature immediately transforms into fertile ground, and any plants in the area grow at double their natural rate for the next year. Additionally, the life force can restore 2d10 hit points to one creature you choose within 30 feet.

Plowblade is an awe-inspiring artifact, its size and weight giving it the appearance of both a powerful weapon and a divine tool of the earth. The blade itself is forged from celestial metal, its edge glimmering with a soft, golden hue, etched with runes that pulse with the life force of nature. The handle is wrapped in vine-like designs, and when wielded, it seems to hum with the energy of growing life, as if the blade can sense the fertile soil it is destined to plow.
