Description | "Now this, whilst universal, is difficult and dangerous. One will need to carefully form a ten pointed star, insuring their feet are perfectly still and perfectly placed, no more than eight inches apart from the inside edge of each foot. This ten pointed star will need to be formed at a perfectly parellel height to your feet within the Aether, so one must be very confident in their ability to tell their orientation within. The star will not have equal length points, the five points, starting from the one extending forward from you and moving either left or right, that connect to the foot you will step forward with, should extend two feet from you in the appropriate directions. The others should only extend one foot from you and connect to the foot you are not going to step forward with. Once you have formed the Arcanis Rune, focusing and insuring the image of your destination is clear in your mind for the primordial force to read from you, one simply steps foward, allowing the magick to take full hold of one's self as they do so, as the break the star." Spell-Stitch/Spell-Weave DC: 22 Focusing your channeling and weaving upon yourself and your targets, as well as your memories of the destination, you cast your consciousness outwards for that 1 minute of casting time, moving at impossible speeds through the Aether currents, establishing a route through them that would get you to your destination. Upon establishing that route, you and your companion creatures if any, will seem to step into the Aether, dissolving down into the current of the appropriate manna flow, reappearing in but a moment where you envisioned. This sensation is hard on the uninitiated (read non magister, or magister of an order other than your own). Such creatures need to make a Fortitude Save. Should they fail, they take 2d6 of the appropriate elemental damage and gain the Sickened (1) Condition. Success still takes half damage but no conditions. Critical failure takes double damage. Critical Success suffers no ill effects. Every flow of manna overlaps to some amount all about the material realm, and as such most any magister or shaman or the like can attempt to Elemental Step pretty much anywhere. However the difficulty of this spell weave drops noticeably in a few circumstances. The first notable one is if you are targeting a location currently housing an Elemental Symbol keyed to the same manna flow as that which you manipulate to cast. If this is the case, the Spell-Stitch/Spell-Weave DC of this spellform drops by 4. The second is any location that would be a well of the appropriate energy. Wells are places seeped or saturated with one flow of manna noticeably and heavily more than the others. If such is the case, the Spell-Stitch/Spell-Weave of this spellform drops by a further 4. Below is a small table providing examples of locations which would qualify, but are by no means an exhaustive list.
Tier -1: Fail to cast, roll Major Miscast Tier 0: Fail to cast, roll Minor Miscast Tier II: Can take up to 5 willing creatures, Spell-Stitch/Spell-Weave DC becomes 27 to flat cast. Tier III: Can take up to 7 willing creatures, Spell-Stitch/Spell-Weave DC becomes 32 to flat cast. |
